On March 19, 2021, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) organized the International Conference on Intelligent System and Networks (ICISN 2021). This is the first international conference in a series of conferences that the University of Transport Technology proposed, hosted and became an annual scientific activity to be held annually. Attending the conference were Dr. Tran Duc Lai - Former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, President of Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam, Dr. Doan Quang Hoan- General Secretary, cum Vice Chairman of Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam and members of the Association's leadership board; Mr. Tran Quang Ha – Deputy General Director of Science and Technology Department - Ministry of Transport; On behalf of the University of Transport Technology were Assoc.Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Khiem – Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Van Lam - Vice Rector. Attending the conference, there were representatives of the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, leaders of universities, research institutes, business agencies, and organizations; leaders representing Trade Union, Youth Union, departments, faculties, centers, lecturers, and students at the University; press agencies and more than 100 Vietnamese and foreign experts, scientists, and speakers. The entire content of the Conference was broadcast livestream on many social networking platforms and Zoom online meeting systems.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long – UTT Rector said with the support of Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam, the University of Transport Technology as a member of the Association was organizing the first International Conference on Intelligent System and Networks with the desire to become an annual forum for Vietnam and foreign experts and scientists to exchange their studies, to share experiences, to look for cooperation opportunities in the field of Electronics, telecommunications, IT and other related fields. The conference focused on the topics of systems, smart networks, security solutions, software development methods and software engineering, signal processing, IoT applications .... Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long also said that, in harmony with the trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution, which is taking place all over the world and in Vietnam, in the past years, the University of Transport Technology is gradually improving university governance capacity associated with digital transformation; standardizing and diversifying training programs, including computer networks and data communications, electronics - telecommunications; information technology, career-oriented information systems, both interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary connections with digital technology integration; promoting scientific researches with the application of information, electronics and telecommunications technologies in solving practical problems of the Transport Industry and the country.

Appreciating the efforts of the University of Transport Technology to propose and host the first International Conference on Intelligent System and Networks, former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, President of Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV), Dr. Tran Duc Lai said that Vietnam is entering a digital era. The Government recently announced the National Digital Transformation Program. Therefore, this technical forum is one of the activities contributing to the Program's implementation. “Despite being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the Conference attracted 198 papers from Vietnamese and international individuals and research organizations. All are carefully evaluated by scientists, 68 articles were selected for printing at the prestigious Spinger Publishing House and presented in 8 sessions of the Conference. This shows the success of the Conference”, Dr. Tran Duc Lai said.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Tran Quang Ha - Deputy Director General of Department of Science and Technology - Ministry of Transport also acknowledged and appreciated the University of Transport Technology as one of the major universities in the transportation industry. The UTT is showing its success in fulfilling the mission of training high-quality human resources for the Transport Industry, but also being very active in researching and applying advanced sciences and technologies in production practices of the Industry and organization. UTT has also organized many international conferences and seminars to mobilize brain resources of Vietnamese and foreign scientists to improve the quality of infrastructure projects in Vietnam. He emphasized that the University should be more proactive in advising and proposing to support the Ministry concretize the "National Strategy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution to 2030" signed by the Prime Minister with the application of priority technologies in project formulation, construction quality management, at the same time, management, operation and maintenance of the transport infrastructure system and traffic management and organization.

Also at the Conference, the UTT conferred the right to host the second ICISN Conference to Swinburne University Vietnam in 2022.
